The Nova Scotia Showdown

Hometown hero Sidney Crosby, one of the best players in the history of the NHL, returned to Scotiabank Centre’s ice in October as the Captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins for the NHL’s Nova Scotia Showdown against the Ottawa Senators.

Like Lightning: The Halifax Thunderbirds

In 2023-2024, the Halifax Thunderbirds had the most successful season in the team’s history, making the National Lacrosse League playoffs, breaking attendance records at Scotiabank Centre, and continuing to create community through sport.
