This year, as part of our commitment to create more opportunities for our community to enjoy events at Scotiabank Centre, we developed new partnerships with organizations that aligned with our focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion. Through our Community Ticket Program, we donated more than 1,300 tickets to clients of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Halifax, the Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia, Halifax Public Libraries, Kids Up Front Atlantic, and Special Olympics NS. These donations invited members of our community who may not otherwise have the opportunity, income, or access to attend some of our most exciting events including Halifax Mooseheads games, Halifax Thunderbirds games, the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championships, and the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo.

Ticket Donations

Through Scotiabank Centre’s Ticket Donation Program, we fulfilled dozens of requests for ticket donations from registered non-profits and charities to support their fundraising efforts. Our ticket donations and support to fundraising made significant impacts on communities across Nova Scotia.

"SHAID Tree Animal Shelter would like to extend our gratitude for your contribution to our silent auction. Thanks to your generous gift, our shelter raised a total of $3,944.00. With kitten season around the corner, these proceeds will help us spay and neuter approximately 30 cats and kittens."

Community Support

The Halifax Thunderbirds returned to the Nest for the 2022-23 season. Through the team’s efforts and with the National Lacrosse League, the Thunderbirds went above and beyond to honour the Indigenous and cultural heritage of the sport and our city through their team ethos and inclusive programming. By dedicating games to the support of Every Child Matters, LBGTQIA2S+, the Halifax Thunderbirds Dance Team, youth training camps and more, the Halifax Thunderbirds celebrated the diversity within the sport and across our city and represented those values throughout North America. We were proud partners of the Halifax Thunderbirds in honouring the Mi’kmaq Nation within our building and recognizing First Nations across the land by creating an inclusive experience for our fans.

Contests

In partnership with Rogers, Scotiabank Centre was proud to deliver That’s the Ticket: ten contests open to all Nova Scotians offering free tickets and premium experiences for select live events, including hotel stays at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel, gift cards to enjoy our local bars and restaurants, and assorted prize packs. Contests like That’s the Ticket promote our events while also giving every Nova Scotian an opportunity to experience our venue, our major concerts, and our neighboring hospitality businesses, to create memories and moments that will last a lifetime. We also hosted contests to win tickets to the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship with our downtown partners.
