Scotiabank Centre has a legacy of hosting incredible sporting, cultural, and entertainment events that span almost five decades – it is the place in Halifax for fans from home and around the world to make memories that last a lifetime.
This year, Scotiabank Centre hosted a broad mix of events and entertainment that represented our diverse and growing community. In 2023-2024, Scotiabank Centre exceeded our annual event and impact targets, driving vibrancy to downtown Halifax: hosting 106 events welcoming 573,647 fans, generating $53.4M in direct expenditures. With the support of our partners and community, we are so proud of delivering another record-setting year, reinforcing the importance of our venue as a space for our fans to share experiences, celebrate our region, and build our community, by attending events with us.
We were thrilled to host major artists and entertainers and it was especially exciting to host the Opening Ceremony of the 2023 North American Indigenous Games and the NHL’s Nova Scotia Showdown with Sidney Crosby back on our ice! At the Wildfire Recovery Concert, we raised over $330,000 for the Wildfire Recovery Appeal, supporting our community in the best way we know how: with awesome events. Our teams went above and beyond to deliver two major award shows – the 2023 East Coast Music Awards and the 2024 JUNO Awards, along with legendary concerts and regular seasons of the Halifax Thunderbirds and the Halifax Mooseheads.
Our teams continue to create the best experiences for our region with a commitment to deliver our fan experience vision and build Halifax’s reputation as an amazing host city. Our partners and fans make our success possible – and we are excited to continue attracting amazing events and creating even more impact in the upcoming year and beyond.
